A little history.
Steve was born and bred in Winchester and his family roots are firmly fixed in Winchester's history. Having been raised in Wavell way, on the Stanmore estate Steve attended the Stanmore primary school and Montgomery secondary school, he went on to work at the Eastleigh railway works as a qualified welder for 10 years.
His Grandfather was a Winchester motorcycle club member back in the 50's and Steve first got to grips on a bike when he was 12 where he learnt to ride in the fields that are now the Badgers Farm housing estate.
At 16 Steve became a member of the Winchester Motorcycle club where he started racing after watching the local born World Champion Graham Noyce from Fair Oak, who was racing race at the Owslebury circuit.
10 years later Steve followed his passion of riding and repairing bikes to become a Grand Prix mechanic in 1990 and after 22 years and over 320 Grand Prix's Steve is still as enthusiastic as ever.
Steve is now the owner of the highly successful Bike It Cosworth Wild Wolf Yamaha Grand Prix team based from his workshop 10 minutes from Matterley in Swanmore. Currently Steve is also Great Britain’s Motocross of Nations team manager and gives employment to 8 local people in his team.
Having been involved with organization of 2 British GP's and one of the biggest Motocross of Nations ever, Steve was presented the opportunity to bring together the correct organizations to once again host the Grand prix at Matterley Basin.
Meticulous in attention to detail Steve is determined to put on a fantastic experience for the riders and the public.
Steve’s father Graham, who was a well know Driving Instructor in Winchester was a massive influence in Steve’s career, he also helped build the Matterley circuit in 2006 after his bulldozer driving days in the Royal Engineers. Unfortunately Graham passed away in 2009, but he was sure his son would put on another amazing event. Now the opportunity has arose, Steve is dedicating this race to his late father, Graham Dove-Dixon.

So you can be assured Steve is putting this event together so everyone has a safe and special weekend.
